2005 CONFERENCE EVALUATION SUMMARY

There were a total of 52 evaluations returned for the 1st day of the conference and 45 for the 2nd day of the conference.   The vast majority of the evaluations indicated “yes” for “allotted time adequate for topic”, “topic of value to my RHC”, “handouts enhanced presentation”, and “valuable as annual topic” for Thursdays presentations.

There were a significant number of  “No”  responses under “allotted time adequate for topic” for Fridays presentations RHCAW Annual Meeting, Nuts & Bolts of RHCs, and Medicaid Issues.

Conference Facilities (Campbell’s Resort) were overwhelmingly rate “superior”.

Following are some the comments we received about the sessions:

National Policy Update.
- Less personalizing would be preference.
- His data wasn’t entirely accurate for WA state.

RHC Medicare Billing-Independent.
-
Handouts of website pages difficult to read.
- Would like even more time with Susan.
- Should have handouts on all slides

RHC Medicare Billing-Provider Based
-
Really appreciate having Noridian here.

HPSA Designations.
-
Handout print is too small especially graphs.

Luncheon Speaker
-
Would rather have had round table, networking opportunities like 2004 conference.
- Would have liked handouts.

Cost Reporting – Independent
-
Wasn’t really about cost reporting but was helpful.
- What happened to cost reporting section for independent RHCs???  Susan said she doesn’t do that presentation. . .This was one of my reasons to attend – so I  didn’t sit in on Mike Bells cost report section since it was for provider based RHCs.

Quality Improvement
-
Overall topic valuable with a different specific presentation every year.
- An example of a QI plan implementation (i.e., diabetes QI project would have been very helpful).

Risk Management
-
Great handouts/guide very good.

RHCAW Annual Meeting
-
Too much detail in minutes – also reading them aloud too long – suggest passing out while eating breakfast so we can read them.
- Allow adequate time if many issues to be discussed at annual meeting or put it at the end of the day

Nuts & Bolts of RHCs
-
(Mike Bell) Always easy to listen to. Very salient.
- Time taken away by bylaws session impacted this dramatically as well as time taken to accommodate the large group.

Electronic Medical Records
-
More time

Medicaid Billing issues
-
Have MAA the first day!   Allow more time.
- Appreciate MAAs willingness to come every year.
- Lacking in definitive answers and/or resolutions.
- Gail needed overheads.

Conference facilities.
-
This is a great place for the annual conference.
- Water on tables 5
- Lighting in conference rooms was poor.
- Dinner cruise was excellent, good food, relaxing – nice diversion.
- Would have been nice to have wine/beer available for purchase on the boat cruise.
- Later checkout would be great.

Additional Comments

If we are in Chelan again sometime how about a wine tasting party on one of the evenings as an extra-curricular event?  There are 12 wineries here in the Chelan Valley.

I think the central location is much better than the last ones.

Have sessions for new RHCs and experienced.  Some topics are very basic.  This would allow for more detailed discussions.

Pass out by-laws for review prior to the meeting.

Would prefer to see list of clinics also include a column for “independent” and “provider based”

2 full days. I wish I could have been in more than one place at a time.  I would have liked to hear Bob Perna on WSMA state update.  Overall, a great conference.

Protein choices at breakfast (hard boiled eggs, deli meat?)

How about having a “star” RHC admin talk about set up or billing or recruitment hints/helps – any or all of above.

Round table or group discussions with provider based and independent folks sharing challenges & new ideas.

An overview of coding & documentation would be helpful for some of practices based on questions asked at DSHS mtg.  Modifier 25 does not seem to be understood.

Need more billing topics next time.

I would suggest this be 2 ½ days instead of 1 ½ .  Friday’s topics need to be a full day.  Everyone needed Risk Mgmt. & should have been 2 separate sessions so everyone could attend.
